Reviews from GoodReads. I love reading about stories like this one, where a craft brings together the most unusual friends at a time when all the doors have closed and several windows open. I flew threw this book. I am a slow reader, but read it in two afternoons.
I enjoyed all the characters and this style of writing. Anyone of us who have been touched by breast cancer, can identify with Evelyn, and her friends who are the angels who help her through her illness. A wonderfully written story. July 5, - Published on Amazon. In this book, Marie Bostwick introduces us to her cast of characters. Evelyn Dixon, the owner of Cobbled Court Quilts, could be your best friend. If she isn't already, you would want her to be. The story is woven around her in this, the first book of the series. She leaves her safety to move to New Bern and opens a quilt shop, her lifelong dream.
She slowly becomes friends with an unlikely cast of characters who ultimatley, not only save her life, but save Cobbled Court Quilts!
It's been a while since I have read a book that left me feeling like I had just spent time with good friends. You don't have to love quilting to love this book! I have already purchased the next two in the series and can't wait to read them. Thank you, Marie Bostwick for introducing me to your friends who became my friends!

This is accomplished and lives are changed. April 29, - Published on Amazon. I don't know why I hesitate to start Marie Bostwick books. Perhaps I know that I will be challenged emotionally and spiritually. Marie writes books that makes you think and makes you care about her characters.
She "adopts" an old building to turn it into a quilt shop. He goal is to not only sell fabric, but to create a community of friends for support and love. It's a good thing to see the lives of all four main characters change for the better. They put aside bitterness, betrayal, and hidden hurts to help each other.
In doing so, they help themselves. They are some neat surprises at the end that you won't want to miss. September 10, - Published on Amazon. This book was recommended to me for reading during a rough week when I needed to step into someone else's world. It was perfect. The author's knowledge of quilting as an allegory to life blended in to the sensitivity of the challenges the women were facing with a good dose of appropriate humor thrown in.
I will definitely be reading more of this author. June 30, - Published on Amazon.

This is a story of harmony and of heartache. The characters Evelyn, Abigail, Margot and Liza have each recently experienced a life-altering situation but find "a single thread" of commonality. That thread winds around them all as the story unfolds. A circle of friendship emerges wherein each character is awakened to her own strengths and talents.
As these ladies are forced to face their new circumstances they somehow find themselves in Evelyn's newly opened "Quilt Shop". This read transcends the written word and I felt myself swept into their world through the fabric and the colors and the patterns and of course "the thread" that seams their lives and their friendships together.
